THE DIVISION

UBISOFT

The Division is an online action RPG, and I was responsible for a feature known as Talents. These are passive abilities that the player can unlock, acquire and equip over time. I was tasked with producing several iterations of art and design as the game and art direction evolved and progressed. In addition, I also worked on the creation of icons for Talent and Skill abilities as well as Loot items.

The construction of the menu was handled with the Snowdrop engine.

Below are images of in-game screenshots / mockups / concepts.

David Tailford

Senior UI Artist

I met Shironne at Ubisoft Reflections in early 2011 where he worked as a QA Technician, but it wasn’t until Driver: San Francisco came to a close late 2011 when he changed discipline and moved into UI/UX, that I got to know him properly.

We worked together for a long time on Tom Clancy’s: The Division as part of the UI Team in Newcastle. I always found Shironne to be positive, enthusiastic and extremely thorough. He was constantly keen to learn and improve, always asking questions and would actively seek to critique his work. Due to his attitude towards his work, he was able to complete tasks on time and to an excellent standard. His artwork was consistently of very good quality and his reasoning behind decisions was well thought out and understood.

I’ve known Shironne for a number of years now. I’ve always found him to be incredibly nice natured and considerate of others. He’s a quiet chap, always thinking, always working something out; just trying to get the best out of himself. I’d be more than happy to work with him again in the future. He’s particularly good at what he does and is a genuinely nice person to work with. I’d consider him a useful addition to any company and a valuable asset to any team lucky enough to have him on board.
